Renaud Timson

I was tasked to write a couple of words about myself.

Here they are:

Exploring.  History

Or exploring history.

One is about two loves of mine.

The other is a blend of both.

Label it as wanderlust, insatiable curiosity, the joy of discovery, I’m in my element when I explore.  Be it a different city or a different country.  Diving into a book or diving under the waves – there’s always a story to be found and one to be told.

Even if you visit the same place again, it’s a whole new adventure – a mix of past experiences with new and different ones.

That’s the same feeling I get when I explore whisky.

What will I encounter?  What stories will I find?

What subtle nuances will slake my curiosity this time?

Whisky offers you the opportunity to visit for the first time or return to a familiar place.

Exploring.  History.

Exploring history.

I love being a tour guide at whisky tastings – pointing out the really cool things along the way.  I enjoy sharing what I get out of the whiskies’ stories.  But the best part… the best part is hearing about what others uncover.

Whisky is a unique world to sightsee, whether by yourself or with others.

And all you need is a glass to get started. Explore the pour.

“When COVID pulled the plug on our ability to host fun and unique customer-facing events, we were forced to improvise.  A quick search online led me to Brendan from Specialty Spirits, and after a brief discussion about my vision for the event, he was able to craft a customized, virtual whiskey tasting evening for a group of colleagues and friends.

I wasn’t sure how it was all going to come together but Brendan, absolutely delivered a memorable event; and I didn’t have to lift a finger!  He took care of the product selection, sample preparation, packaging and shipping.

The knowledge and passion for whiskey displayed by Brendan and his colleague, Renaud is truly unmatched.  The added bonus of having Owen King, the distiller at Ironclad Distillery, an artisanal distillery in the United States, walk us through his products and the history of his company, was greatly appreciated by all.

I would not hesitate to utilize Brendan’s services again. Nor should you.”
